Joseph Gates
Meet Joseph Gates, a trial lawyer who takes great pride in his work. He believes that the civil justice system is a level playing field where the meek and powerful can stand on equal footing. In this arena, the richest and most dominant must adhere to the same rules as the weakest and poorest. Joseph is passionate about fighting for justice and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status, has their day in court.
Joseph is married to Edith Gates, and they have three beautiful daughters, Sofia Marie, Violet Esmeralda, and Emilia Rose. They all live together in Little Rock, where Joseph was born and raised.
Joseph's legal career began after passing the Arkansas Bar in the summer of 2010. For the first ten years of his practice, he worked at Taylor King & Associates, PA, and Paul Byrd Law Firm, PLLC. During this time, he gained extensive experience in Personal Injury, Car Wreck, Trucking/18 Wheeler Collisions, Products Liability, and Traumatic Brain Injury cases.
In fall 2020, Joseph founded Gates Law Firm, PLLC, with a mission to provide exceptional legal representation to those in need. With a focus on the aforementioned practice areas, Joseph and his team are committed to helping clients get the justice and compensation they deserve. Joseph Gates is a distinguished member of the legal community, with memberships in several esteemed organizations, including the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association (ATLA), Arkansas Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Association for Justice (AAJ), Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), and Pulaski County Bar Association. Joseph is a former Chair of the New Lawyers' Network and current Board of Governors member of the ATLA, where he works to promote the interests of his fellow lawyers. He also serves in leadership for the Products Liability section for the AAJ, having graduated from its prestigious Leadership Academy, Class 5, in 2017. Joseph's involvement in these organizations speaks to his commitment to excellence in the legal field and his dedication to serving his clients with the highest level of professionalism and expertise.
